About Us: Licensed and Homestudy approved! I'm Leslie, a 30 year old single mom, and I've had an amazing boyfriend (Randall) for the past 6 years. I have a 9 year old daughter, and he has a 14 year old daughter. We spend almost every day together, and he just bought the house next door to us! We're a Christian family and we love spending time together.
Where We Live: We live in a 3 bedroom house with a fenced in back yard in Northwest Arkansas just 30 miles south of Branson, Missouri. It's a wonderful small town of about 13,000 and close to lots of lakes and fun things to do! We have wonderful neighbors. Randall just bought the house on one side of us, and on the other side of us our neighbors are like family. She's a nurse and he's a detective and their daughter is practically inseparable from mine. They play together every day.
Where I Work: I'm a singer/songwriter, and I perform in a music show (family friendly) 6 nights a week that Randall and his brother own. We just had a song in a movie that was released this year! In the winter we do roadshows on weekends and the girls LOVE riding the tour bus with us! During the day, I have my own web design and marketing business that I do from my house. I've been able to work from home for over 10 years now, and I love it.
The Girls: Our girls have been "sisters" since mine was 1 and his was 7. These two girls prove that being sisters runs much deeper than genetics. They're both straight A students and we're very blessed with such wonderful girls!
What We Do: We love life! We enjoy just about anything, but some of our favorites are singing, dancing, gymnastics, jumping on the trampoline, swimming, water skiing, playing in sprinklers, doing tricks off diving boards, roller coasters, soccer, basketball, roller skating, riding bicycles, sledding down big hills in the winter, playing the Wii, playing cards, and shopping on eBay. If it's action packed or technology related...we're probably involved in it! |

Why I'm Adopting:
I LOVE kids! The girls can't wait to have a little sister or brother, and my boyfriend is very supportive of my decision. I've just always felt it in my heart to adopt someday...and the time is now! We're so excited about welcoming a new baby into the family!
I'm very easy to talk to, and you are welcome to call or text anytime at (870) 715-2867.

Dear Birthmother...
Would you like your child to grow up in the music business, attend public school, and travel in the winter on weekends in a tour bus? That's only a small part of the fun we have! We are very active and on the go, too. We enjoy dancing, gymnastics, jumping on the trampoline, swimming, water skiing, playing in sprinklers, doing tricks off diving boards, roller coasters, soccer, basketball, roller skating, riding bicycles, sledding down big hills in the winter, playing the Wii, playing cards, and shopping on eBay. If it's action packed or technology related...we're probably involved in it!
We're a very fun and energetic family. My boyfriend, Randall, and I have been dating for 6 years and we consider ourselves a family. He owns a music theater and we do over 200 music shows a year (www.hoedown.net)! In the winter we tour on the weekends on a tour bus where our girls (9 and 14) bunk bed and gets to go with us. The girls attend public school and still get to enjoy the stage and the spotlights anytime they want to! We are also songwriters and we just had one of our original songs in a movie that was released on DVD in April 2010!
While we can't possibly understand what you are going through, we'd like to thank you for your consideration, your courage, and your amazing kindness. Whether you're looking for a closed adoption or open adoption, we want to let you know that we are open to either option and we will always respect and honor your decision.
I would like to introduce myself and let you know how excited I am about the opportunity to love and adore your baby. After looking at adoption.com for about 3 or 4 years, I decided to get more serious about it and actually get on the waiting list to adopt. After a year of doing classes and paperwork, we're finally approved to adopt! Kaylie really wants a little sister or brother, and I think God has something in mind. Adoption isn't my only choice, but it's the choice that feel right to me! The more I dive into the adoption process, the more excited I get about bringing home our newest little addition.
So let me start by telling you a little bit about myself. First and foremost, I'm a Christian and I know that without God nothing is possible. I try to live my life the best I know how, and I pray everyday He guides me in raising my children to know and serve Him. I'm 29 and a single mom, but I've never considered myself "alone". I was married in October of 2000 for just 18 months. I have an amazing 9 year old daughter, Kaylie, that I adore more than life itself. We maintain a great relationship with her dad who lives just 30 minutes away. She sees him at least once a week, and sometimes more. Her dad and I have remained friends, and we try to work with each other as best as we can to allow her to share her life with two families that love her to pieces! He comes over just to hang out in the back yard and play with her at times. Our families get along well. Sometimes her cousins on her dad's side will even come over and hang out with us!
I also have another daughter that I sometimes forget I didn't actually give birth to (ha ha). Her name is Randalyn, but we call her Rannie. She's 14, and one seriously great kiddo. She's an outstanding self-taught dancer, too! Her dad, Randall, and I have been dating for about 6 years. When the house next door to me come up for sale in April 2010, he bought it so we could all live next to each other. We've chosen to be role models for our girls and show them what a respectful relationship is and how important it is to build a friendship first before diving into marriage. Our girls adore each other, and we consider ourselves a family even though it might not be "traditional" in some eyes. We are best friends, business partners, and we perform together in a music show he owns in Eureka Springs called the Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down. He plays guitar, drums, sings, and does comedy as the character "P. Nutt". I also sing, and you could say I'm his sidekick in comedy. I play a wildly hyper cheerleader named "Girl". We have an absolute blast together on and off the stage, and our relationship is probably one of the deepest, honest, and most sincere partnerships I've ever had. So much that we've seemed to mesh our lives together without being under one roof. It might be strange to some, but for us it's an amazing low pressure relationship that works for everyone. We see each other every day, and we're always out and about doing things together.
I'm an on-the-go person, and I always live by the rule: "work hard and play hard". I'm not afraid to work all hours of the night when needed, and I'm not afraid to take off on vacation at the drop of a hat. During the day I stay at home with my kids and manage my own business. I do web design, graphics, Internet marketing, and Randall and I also share a recording studio where we write songs together. The girls entertain themselves while I'm working in my office, and I take time out to hang with them during the day, too. Sometimes I'll stop working and join them for some gymnastics in the living room and sometimes we'll all go outside and jump on the trampoline for a while. I love being involved in what they do because it keeps me young! One of our favorite things to do is go to "open gym" at the YMCA where we have full access to the gymnastics equipment for 2 hours. We do back handsprings, flips, hang on the rings, and anything else we can get into during those two hours. I think I enjoy it just as much as they do!
It's also fun to be able to perform 6 nights a week in a country music show. I began performing when I was 6 years old, and it's been my life ever since. I love to entertain and sing, and being a part of the Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down is the most fun job I've ever had. I'm blessed to work with incredibly talented musicians and entertainers. I've been there since 2002, when Kaylie was just a year old. She's basically grown up in the music theater, and she loves the stage, too!
In my spare time, I love to write songs - especially when I can write with Randall. We just had one of our songs in a movie called "War Eagle Arkansas"! We make trips to Nashville to meet with publishers from time to time, and Kaylie just loves it! She she lives for singing, dancing, and performing. As I'm typing, she's got her iPod in her ears and she's singing and dancing to her favorite...Michael Jackson. She's completely in love with music and it's very cool to know that she shares that passion with me. She also enjoys anything outside, swimming, soccer, golf, playing with her kitties... and she takes dance and gymnastics classes.
You might be asking why I want to adopt when it seems that I already have a full plate, so I'm going to get right to it. I absolutely adore children! They're my life and I would have a house full if I could! I've considered my options, and I'm capable of having more children of my own, but I don't believe in having children with someone you aren't married to. My boyfriend also believes adoption is a wonderful thing, and is very supportive of our adoption plan! I've always been able to love someone else's child as if he/she were my own... in about 3 minutes. :-) I realized that not everyone feels that way, and maybe there is a reason I love children so much. There's not a day that goes by that I'm not saying hello to a little kid in the supermarket or waving at a baby in a stroller. Children are such an inspiration to me, and they keep me laughing and on my toes. I may have more biological children someday, or I may even choose to adopt a second time, but for now I know that adopting is the right choice for me. I've decided to let God make that decision for me whether we have a boy or a girl. We just bought a lot of baby boy clothes after we were told we were going to adopt a baby boy April 5th. After 6 weeks of communication we found out it was all a scam and there was no baby. We've been very dissapointed, but we're not giving up! My daughter still wants to be a big sister and we're praying that God makes it happen for us very soon!
Kaylie loves kids as much as I do, and she can't wait to have a little brother or sister. Our friend, Lea, has a little boy (Boston) that's almost 2 and she thinks the world of him. Sometimes I take him with me to pick her up from school and it just makes her day. She told me this summer that one of the things she misses most about school is seeing Boston's face when he's waiting for her to come running out the door. She's definitely a girl of my own heart and she loves unconditionally. When I asked her what she would ask God for if she could ask him for anything having to do with our adoption, and she simply replied "Can I just ask Him to please hurry?" I agreed that it was a very good prayer. :-)
We live in a house that I bought in June of 2000. When I bought our home, it was a 2 bedroom, 1 bath. We've since added on a large master bedroom and jacuzzi bathroom. We also completely remodeled our kitchen and added a sliding glass door that leads to porch outside in our back yard. Most recently, we discovered that we have some amazing hardwood floors hiding under the carpet in two bedrooms!. We just remodeled Kaylie's room to show off her polished hardwood floors, and she LOVES it! She's always pulling up the rug and making her room a dance studio. We have a fenced in back yard with a wooden swingset and a 15 foot enclosed trampoline. We're always remodeling and doing things to the house. I really love our place, and knowing how sentimental I am, I'll probably just keep adding on instead of moving. We're already talking about making an upstairs with 2 more bedrooms and a bathroom!
We live right in the middle of a small town of 13,000 in Northwest Arkansas. It's within 5 minutes of everything in town, but also right off of the main road on a little driveway where we like to skate and ride bikes. There are only 3 houses on our driveway, so it's almost like being out of town with all the perks of being in town! We're about 4 minutes away from Kaylie's school, and 1 mile away from our police station. We also live next door to some pretty wonderful neighbors! We have a nurse and a detective on one side that are like family to us. The girls go back and forth between our houses so much, that we just consider us all a big family.
If you're wondering whether your child will be loved and adored (and just a bit spoiled)... yes! If you're wondering if he or she will miss out by being with a single mom...no! We have a very close family. My parents have been married since 1969 and have lived in the same house since 1985... on 30 beautiful acres with a huge swimming pool and two outside pets - Millie (a Golden Retriever from the Humane Society) and Tyson (the sweetest kitty ever). They live 6 miles from Kaylie and me, and we're there at least 3 or 4 times a week. We have big celebrations for birthdays, holidays, and sometimes just because. We're all into music, and every family gathering includes "jammin'" in the living room and cooking great food! Mom loves to spoil us with good "home cookin'" and dad loves to cook Italian food, stirfry, and he's always up for grilling outside on the "big green egg".
I probably have the coolest parents ever. Even in high school, I would often choose hanging out with my family over hanging out with friends. My family are my best friends, and I've been blessed beyond words to grow up in such a loving and respectful home. Our parents never raised their voices with us. We were taught to respect one another, support each other, and enjoy our time together.
I have two older brothers, Jamey and Scott. Jamey has an 11 year old son that is just a doll. He and Kaylie are best friends! Jamey also lives 2 miles from us, and he comes over at least 3 or 4 times a week to visit with us. We play cards, Nintendo Wii, the old Nintendo DS... and he even goes to open gymnastics with us! Scott has a 14 year old daughter that is incredibly daring and adventurous. She's rarely inside when there's a chance to be outside on her horse!
Kaylie and I are so excited about welcoming a brother or sister into our family. If you're looking for a family that is full of love, humor, honor, loyalty, patience, spontaneous fun days, and lots of snuggle time - we can't wait to meet you!
